Job summary
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic candidate dedicated to person-centred care to join a new team at Kingfisher House, a male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
The successful candidate will support the Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistant in delivering therapeutic activities and promoting recovery for individuals in an enhanced care setting.
The role involves delegated duties, organizing, planning, and facilitating activities. As Kingfisher House is a new service, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop the recreational timetable alongside a new and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
You will support the team in providing a quality recreational/leisure service to enhance service users' stays.
The role includes carrying out delegated duties, organizing, planning, and facilitating recreational activities, and promoting social inclusion and autonomy.
This involves establishing a respectful, consistent, and reliable approach with service users to help them build social networks and collaborate with other agencies.

You will contribute to delivering a quality recreational service as part of the Kingfisher House MDT, working closely with OT, OTA, and Sensory Lead.
- Promote recovery and social inclusion, supporting service users' autonomy and choices.
- Encourage attendance and engagement in recreational activities.
- Plan and facilitate individual and group activities flexibly according to needs.
- Assist with administrative tasks like statistics and publicity.
- Manage time effectively when preparing and running activities.
- Support service users' responsibility and participation in activities.
- Contribute to environmental risk assessments and report findings.
- Monitor changes in occupational functioning and report as needed.
