Job description

Responsible for the cleaning, housekeeping, preparation and general safety of areas of the facility and assist customers with enquiries in an effective manner. Undertake fitness instructing and reception duties as required ensuring a comprehensive customer service at all times.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained by carrying out routine cleaning tasks as required.
  • Carry out regular housekeeping duties including litter picking, tidying of stores, and basic low level maintenance as required.
  • Prepare activity areas to include safe setting up and dismantling of equipment and ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
  • Carry out routine inspection and monitoring checks of the facility and equipment, document and report faults and non-compliance as required.
  • Assist customers with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner, proactively develop and maintain high standards of customer care.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. Follow the normal operating procedures of the facility and undertake staff training as required.
  • Undertake reception duties as required ensuring all system booking and cash handling procedures are followed at all times
  • Undertake fitness instructing duties as required delivering customer inductions, one to one fitness instructing and personal programmes. Undertake occasional key holder responsibilities to facilitate out of hours pitch bookings.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time. Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Applicants must hold a current Level 2 Fitness Instructors qualification. Please provide full details of the qualification.
  • One years demonstrable experience working in a leisure and sports environment including: Prescribed client programmes; Customer Service; Carrying out and maintaining high standard or cleaning.
  • Knowledge and application of Health and Safety practices.Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office.
  • Hold a current REP recognised group based exercise qualification, for example:Kettlebells, Pilates, Body Pump.
