About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate people who love health and fitness. We are recruiting Recreation Assistant Pool (lifeguard) staff committed to high customer service standards, motivating others, and providing effective lifeguard services in line with professional codes of conduct, policies, and procedures. You will assist in delivering sport and leisure activities while ensuring customer satisfaction, health and safety, and quality service.

Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide an effective lifeguard service according to professional and corporate standards. To assist in sport and leisure activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, health and safety, and quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Administer First Aid as qualified and report incidents following procedures.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with current health and safety legislation, procedures, and emergency plans.
  • Perform cleaning duties as per schedules, using manual and mechanical equipment safely.
  • Erect, dismantle, and store equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Contribute to a customer-focused service environment.
  • Supervise children’s activities and parties, adhering to child protection policies.
  • Promote and support equality, diversity, and health & safety initiatives.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by your supervisor, consistent with your role.

Progression Criteria to A2

  • Supervise pool activities, identify hazards, and respond appropriately following procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain National Pool Lifeguard qualification through training and compliance with council guidelines.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as appropriate to the role.

Qualifications

Must hold and maintain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification as a condition of employment.
