Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is seeking a Recreation Assistant for One Hyde Park in London. You will maintain recreation facilities to the highest standards and support housekeeping, stock, and event space setup. The role includes basic lifeguard responsibilities with training provided.

Hours are 39 per week over a rotating shift pattern (morning, afternoon, evening, including weekends and bank holidays). You will be the first point of contact for VIP residents and must present with

Responsibilities

• Maintain and sanitise all recreation facilities to ensure hygiene standards.
• Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks per SOPs.
• Ensure stock and amenities are replenished in all spa areas.
• Set up and dismantle meeting and event spaces including cinema and virtual room.
• Supervise pool area with basic lifeguard responsibilities (training provided).
• Open or close the facility.
• Take reservations and answer the phone in the supervisor's absence.

As Recreation Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring all areas of the Recreation facilities are well maintained and ready for use, by ensuring immaculate hygiene standards – cleaning and sanitising each area after each use;

• Carry out routine cleaning, and housekeeping tasks in line with operating procedures;

• Ensuring stock and amenities are constantly replenished in all areas of the spa;

• Setting up and dismantling of all meeting and event spaces including cinema and virtual room;

• Supervising the pool area with basic lifeguard responsibilities(training provided, confidence in water required);

• Opening or closing the facility;

• Taking reservations and answering the telephone in the absence of the supervisor/receptionist.

As a Recreation Assistant, you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 39 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary from morning, afternoon and evening shifts (including weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.

You will bethe first point of contact for our VVIP Residents.

To be a successful Recreation Assistant candidate, you will have:
