Our team in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are recruiting for a Recovery Worker, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. If you are an enthusiastic and creative individual and are passionate about changing people’s lives for the better, we’d love to hear from you. We are a dynamic, supportive and caring service for people in the BCP area. We provide a wide range of services aimed at reducing harm and building recovery with a focus upon empowering people to be the best that they can be.

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. Find out more about us here.

We Are With You`s Bournemouth SPOC (Single Point of Contact) Service provides free and confidential support to people who need support with alcohol and substance use. This role will focus on working with those aged 50 plus. The SPOC Team supports service users at the beginning of their treatment journey within the BCP treatment system. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing a caseload, care planning, risk management, and supporting clients to achieve their personalised goals. We deliver harm minimisation interventions within our needle exchange and deliver psychosocial interventions within our workshops, carrying out preparation and aftercare planning to support referrals towards detoxification programmes and residential rehabilitation.

Our Recovery Workers work with our service users to help them determine their goals, ambitions, and passions, working with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to get them back onto the path to recovery. This is an integral role for With You - as a frontline worker, you will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working, care coordination, delivery of interventions, and key work responsibilities. You will manage an active caseload of service users, connecting quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. Our Recovery Workers play a vital role in supporting clients to identify their goals, ambitions, and passions. You’ll work with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to guide them on their path to recovery.

The hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work as required. The salary is £23,821 - £25,000 per annum.

You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. We’re looking for demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist settings, ideally with those with substance misuse issues. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained. You will also have knowledge and understanding of:

  • Assessment, care planning, and key working
  • Issues affecting substance misusers
  • Rehabilitation
  • Solution-focused brief therapy and/or motivational interviewing

Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our service users and key stakeholders.

This is an evolving part of our service that is truly making a difference. If you believe you have the passion to be a part of our team, please get in touch or submit your application below. We will provide you with the training and support that you need to develop in your role.

Please note a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.
