Recovery Worker - Rough Sleepers Team

A Recovery Worker is needed to join the Rough Sleepers Team at a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in South London.

In this role, the ideal applicant will possess the knowledge and expertise to evaluate and interact with clients to ensure they receive the appropriate intervention tailored to their needs.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals experienced in substance misuse issues who wish to advance their careers within an organization committed to personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist clients upon entering the program and support their therapy or recovery process.
  2. Conduct screening, evaluation, recovery planning, and referrals.
  3. Minimize harm caused by drugs and alcohol to clients and the community.
  4. Act as an advocate for partnership service access.
  5. Support service users' social reintegration, encouraging self-determination, resilience, recovery, and peer support.
  6. Provide structured information to service users in group settings at various stages of their recovery.
Experience Required
  1. Thorough understanding of substance abuse issues or previous experience in a related field.
  2. Knowledge of mental health services, interventions, and best practices.
  3. Ability to manage change effectively while prioritizing service users' interests.
  4. Understanding of information governance procedures and commitment to safety measures.
