As a Part-Time Recovery Worker in our Rough Sleepers Team, you will have the opportunity to engage with individuals, helping them move away from street-based lifestyles and supporting them in overcoming challenges to access the services they need for a better future.

This role requires working outside of the usual 9 to 5 hours to carry out outreach work.

Where: Croydon

Hours: Part time, 22.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 Dependent on experience (Based on full time hours, Pro Rata for part time hours)

Allowances: £2,195.72 Outer London Weighting (Based on full time hours, Pro Rata for part time hours)

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with individuals who have adopted ‘street-based living’ including rough sleepers and beggars, with a view to engaging them in appropriate services and moving them into more settled lifestyles.
  • Increase service user choice, service user involvement, and empower service users to maintain sustainable change; working collaboratively and proactively to ensure that services are fully co-ordinated towards the achievement of goals and positive outcomes for each individual client.
  • Build and develop service users’ personal strengths and social networks in the UK and/or in the individual’s country of origin.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
  • Ability to work with confidence and patience with clients unwilling to engage with services and those that exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to work unsociable hours as and when required.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with good IT skills.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills.
  • Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
  • Understanding of information governance processes and commitment to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden professional knowledge and skills, and contribute to the learning and development of others.
