Job summary

The Forward Trust in Margate is seeking a part-time Recovery Worker to provide person-centred support to adults 18+ with drug/alcohol issues. You will manage a caseload and deliver harm reduction and psychosocial interventions, including assessments, risk management and group work.

Flexible hours include some evenings/weekends with occasional travel. Experience in substance misuse, safeguarding and MOTIVATIONAL interviewing is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within substance misuse services.
  • Experience completing assessments, risk management and care plans.
  • Experience delivering structured interventions and facilitating groups.
  • Experience using motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Strong IT and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse, the Recovery Agenda and safeguarding.
  • An understanding of holistic care and community services.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to adults aged 18+ experiencing drug and/or alcohol-related issues.

Job description

Recovery Worker

Location: Margate

Salary : £26,000 (pro-rata)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, (Please be advised this position is 21 hours per week, however, the hours are negotiable)

The Role

As a Substance Misuse Practitioner, you will provide person-centred support to adults aged 18+ experiencing drug and/or alcohol-related issues.

You will manage a caseload and deliver a range of harm reduction, abstinence-based and psychosocial interventions, including:

  • Comprehensive assessments, risk management and SMART care plans.
  • Structured 1:1 and group interventions.
  • Motivational interviewing and harm reduction advice.
  • Recovery-focused support and continuity of care.
  • Partnership working with Housing, Employment, Healthcare, Probation and other services.
  • Accurate recording and contribution to service outcomes and targets.

Flexibility is required, including some evening/weekend work and occasional travel to other projects within the cluster.

About You

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, non-judgemental and committed to supporting people affected by substance misuse.
