We’re looking for a Recovery Worker to join our brand-new Alcohol and Drug Service covering NHSHighland, an innovative service that aims to make support easier to access, wherever people are.

Our Highland service will provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or druguse. This is a digital service and an exciting new model of service delivery. All client interventions will bedelivered digitally. This includes a combination of web-based and phone support, ensuring those without reliableinternet access can still receive help. Our range of options includes one-to-one, and virtual support groupsdelivered using digital tools. The service is for people living within NHS Highland, so knowledge andunderstanding of this area is preferred and being based in this region is desirable.

Job Description

As a Recovery Worker, you’ll be delivering person-centred, trauma-informed support to individuals concerned abouttheir own or someone else’s alcohol or drug use. You’ll use a mix of phone and digital tools to connect withclients through one-to-one sessions and virtual group work, all from the comfort of your own (or their) safespace.

An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health careand registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is essential for this post.

This is a full time, permanent position with a salary of £25,000 per annum.This post will be based remotely with occasional travel for meetings. This role involves evening and weekendwork in addition to office hours.

We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. Youwill also be organised with excellent time management skills.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have attained SVQ level 3in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
  • already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)or meet the registration requirements
  • have some experience of working in a health, social care, or relatedsetting
  • have some experience of delivering services in a community setting
  • have knowledge and understandingof delivering evidence-based interventions
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients andcolleagues alike
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
  • able to be flexible with yourworking hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed

Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. Wewelcome applications from those with lived experience.

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
