Overview

Change Grow Live is a charity dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Service Users. Our core values are ‘Be open, be compassionate, and be bold’. Our team members apply these daily to help people change their life's direction and grow as individuals.

We are looking for a Floating Support Worker within Change Grow Live Croydon, working with individuals accessing substance use support along with additional housing needs.

You will actively engage with people and the services they need to support improved health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Your role includes providing comprehensive support—practical, emotional, and social—to prevent homelessness and help maintain tenancy.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a similar field who wants to make a difference by providing Floating Support in our Croydon Service.

Where: Croydon

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (pro rata for part-time hours)

Allowance: £2,195.72 Outer London Weighting (pro rata for part-time hours)

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Establish effective communication and referral pathways for individuals at risk of homelessness, collaborating with health and care agencies.
  • Provide support in emergency, temporary, or supported accommodations across Croydon.
  • Prioritize caseloads based on crisis severity and needs.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings to support links to health, social care, peer support, and community resources.
  • Work closely with the local authority, health & social care sectors, partners, and services linked to preventing homelessness to improve joint working.

About you:

  • Knowledge of the harmful effects of drug and alcohol use related to health, social welfare, housing, employment, and relationships.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in tenancy sustainment and community engagement.
  • Experience engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Flexibility and ability to manage challenging behavior are essential.
