Recovery Worker - HMP Isle of Wight

Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service at HMP Isle of Wight is seeking a dynamic and experienced Recovery Worker. The team is innovative, forward-thinking, and committed to a recovery-focused approach that meets people's needs. You will be part of a supportive team with effective management, supervision, and guidance.

Working with individuals who have complex offending backgrounds and mental health needs within a prison setting is both challenging and rewarding. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of often disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Are You
  • Passionate about providing high-quality mental health care and support?
  • Skilled and experienced in delivering evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions aimed at supporting positive changes and recovery?
  • Highly motivated with the ability to support and inspire others?
  • Capable of applying your skills and interventions to care for individuals with mild to moderate mental health needs, often co-occurring with substance misuse?

Role Responsibilities
  1. Provide a range of low, medium, and high-intensity interventions as part of the Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team to individuals experiencing substance misuse problems.
  2. Work within a custodial environment to deliver a high-quality drug and alcohol recovery service tailored to individual needs.
  3. Motivate and support individuals to achieve recovery and positive outcomes within a recovery-oriented substance misuse treatment service.
  4. Collaborate with clinical prescribing services to ensure comprehensive care for each service user.
  5. Offer assessment, recovery planning, casework coordination, and psychosocial interventions for individuals within the prison.
