Job summary

Waythrough is hiring a Recovery Worker to join an expanding team in Torbay. This full‑time post (37 hours per week) sits within the TRI/GIA collaboration and focuses on trauma‑informed, person‑centred support to people with complex needs in the community and criminal-justice settings.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate care, coordinating referrals from prisons, courts, police custody, probation and other agencies, with comprehensive training provided.

Location: Based in Torbay (TRI) – Shrublands House, 8 Morgan Avenue, Torbay, TQ2 5RSHours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)Contract: Fixed term (one contract of 12 months and another of 10 months)

Salary: £25,110 - £32,090

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team within Torbay Recovery Initiatives (TRI) and Growth In Action Structure (GIA). You will be working as part of our friendly team at the intersection of substance misuse recovery and the criminal justice system. You’ll play a vital role in helping individuals move forward, making positive life changes that improve health, reduce re-offending, and support long-term recovery.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Recovery Worker in Torbay. Are you ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a bold new direction in service delivery? The successful candidate will be an integral part of the service as we move toward a more integrated, dynamic approach. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver Trauma Informed and Person-Centred support working towards positive client outcomes and ensure the highest standards of collaborative and co-production working within Torbay. You’ll work with people referred by prisons, courts, police custody, probation, and other agencies – many of whom have offending behaviour linked to substance misuse. This is a hands‑on, varied role, with full training and support provided.
