Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a dedicated Recovery Worker to join our Torbay team, delivering trauma-informed, person-centred support to clients referred from prisons, courts, police custody and probation. You will help individuals move forward toward safer, healthier lives within a collaborative service framework.

The role is based in Torbay, full-time, 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, on fixed-term contracts of 12 and 10 months, with comprehensive training and support from a dynamic team.

Recovery Worker

Location: Based in Torbay (TRI) - Shrublands House, 8 Morgan Avenue, Torbay, TQ2 5RS

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm)

Contract: Fixed term (one contract of 12 months and another of 10 months)

Salary: £25,110 - £32,090

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team within Torbay Recovery Initiatives (TRI) and Growth In Action Structure (GIA). You will be working as part of our friendly team at the intersection of substance misuse recovery and the criminal justice system. You'll play a vital role in helping individuals move forward, making positive life changes that improve health, reduce re-offending, and support long-term recovery.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Recovery Worker in Torbay. Are you ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a bold new direction in service delivery? The successful candidate will be an integral part of the service as we move toward a more integrated, dynamic approach. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver Trauma Informed and Person-Centred support working towards positive client outcomes and ensure the highest standards of collaborative and co-production working within Torbay. You'll work with people referred by prisons, courts, police custody, probation, and other agencies – many of whom have offending behaviour linked to substance misuse. This is a hands-on, varied role, with full training and support provided.
