Recovery Team Leader - Motor Insurance

Location:

Bolton (Office-based with flexible working options)

Salary:

From £31,500, depending on experience

Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (35 hours)

Job Description:

Are you a natural leader with experience in motor recovery claims? If you're ready to lead in a fast-paced, technical environment where your knowledge and people skills matter, this role could be your next step.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of recovery claims handlers managing non-fault motor claims from notification to settlement.
  2. Handle escalated queries, complaints, and complex claims.
  3. Monitor team performance and support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet recovery targets and maintain service levels.
  5. Review reports and KPIs to identify trends, prevent backlogs, and improve performance.
  6. Ensure FCA compliance and support GDPR and confidentiality protocols.
  7. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and HR processes for your team.
Requirements:
  1. Strong background in technical motor recovery claims.
  2. Experience in team leadership or supervision.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Knowledge of FCA, FOS, and claims compliance.
  5. Strong organizational and prioritization skills under pressure.
  6. CII Certificate in Insurance (essential); Dip CII is a bonus.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and data analysis.
