Job summary

Lifeways in Stafford is seeking a Recovery Support Worker to join the Enhanced Community Recovery Service. You will provide meaningful support to adults with mental health needs, helping them work toward greater independence, with shift patterns including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, located in Stafford. We value empathy, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

We welcome compassionate, reliable and forward-thinking individuals to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll be providing meaningful support to adults living with a diverse range of mental health needs, helping them work toward greater independence.

Shift Patterns

Flexibility is essential for this role, with working hours between 08:00 and 22:00, Monday to Friday, including evenings and weekends. Sleep-in shifts are required from 22:00 to 08:00.

About You

You may already have experience supporting people with mental health needs - if not, we'll provide full training. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your empathy, and your ability to communicate clearly and confidently.

You’ll need:

An NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care is beneficial, but not essential - we will support you to work towards it.

About the Service

Our Stafford service supports adults living with a range of mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. Some individuals may present with self-harm behaviours, substance misuse or verbal aggression.

We also support people with forensic backgrounds who may be under Ministry of Justice (MOJ) conditions and working alongside Firs team professionals. It's a busy and dynamic environment with regular involvement from multi-disciplinary teams, so confidence, resilience and effective communication are key.
