Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative registered senior practitioner to expand our Paediatric Recovery team at RMCH. This role covers paediatrics and a diverse range of specialties within our 10‑theatre, 24/7 emergency centre and partner services including high‑energy proton beam therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Support band 7 team leaders in children’s theatres.
  • Mentor junior staff, ensuring learning needs are met and wellbeing supported.
  • Coordinate recovery/theatre lists to run smoothly and safely.
  • Lead IQP ideas and audits, communicating changes within the team.
  • Promote staff wellbeing by completing annual appraisals and celebrating successes.
  • Be proactive in finding cost‑saving ideas and implementing positive change.
  • Adapt flexibly within the role and model a positive attitude for all colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Registered senior practitioner with experience in paediatrics and major trauma.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff.
  • Strong organisational and audit experience.
  • Commitment to staff wellbeing and continuous improvement.
