Job description

Recovery Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner to join a substance misuse charity on an initial temporary basis.

This is a rolling contract, where you would be required on-site from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has dealt with substance misuse issues and is hoping to advance in their career with an organisation that will help them further their personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting clients when they first join the programme and identify the best course of action for their recovery.
  2. Minimising the harm that drugs and alcohol do to clients and the larger community.
  3. Acting as an advocate for partnership services.
  4. Assisting service users with their social (re)integration so they can live meaningful lives by encouraging self-determination, resilience and recovery.
  5. Facilitating group sessions to provide service users with structured information at different phases of their recovery.

Experience Required:
  1. Possess a thorough awareness of substance misuse issues or have previous experience working in a related field.
  2. Possess a solid working understanding of drug and alcohol services, interventions, and best practices.
  3. Capacity to successfully manage change while putting the interests of service users first.
  4. Recognise the significance of information governance procedures and adhere to all required safety measures.
