Job description

Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people from getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing, and related support.

We have nearly 200 services across England and employ almost 3,500 staff and volunteers who support around 125,000 people annually.

Bringing together two large organizations is a significant task, and it will take time to fully integrate our systems, processes, and approaches. Consequently, job postings currently bear the ‘Humankind’ branding. Full system integration is planned for next year, but for now, the recruitment systems remain separate.

Recovery Coordinator - Maternity Cover, 12-Month Fixed-Term

PCRS Lewisham - 55 Dartmouth Road, London, SE23 3HN

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of adult service users within GPSC (GP Shared Care) and Primary Care Recovery services, working at GP surgeries and our Lewisham office, delivering evidence-based interventions aligned with individual recovery plans. This involves collaborating with team members, family, and significant others as appropriate.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will provide substance misuse-specific knowledge, interventions, harm minimization, and support, helping to establish personalized recovery goals to support service users in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating closely with GPs and social care professionals to optimize health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Managing an adult caseload of OST (Opiate Substitute Treatment), alcohol, and non-opiate users, providing person-centered care.
  • Co-producing and reviewing recovery and treatment plans.
  • Facilitating individuals’ progression from engagement through treatment to self-sustained recovery.
  • Reducing alcohol and drug-related harm.
  • Supporting detoxes in community, inpatient, and rehabilitation settings.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience in the Drug and Alcohol Sector.
  • Experience delivering group interventions.
