The Salvation Army in Liverpool is seeking a Recovery Practitioner (Specialist Support Worker) to lead harm reduction and recovery efforts. You will engage locally and nationally with practitioners, promoting dignity and person-centred care for individuals facing homelessness and addiction.
The role involves collaborating with colleagues, delivering training, and developing services to empower lasting positive change.
Values that matter: a willingness to work in keeping with and promote the values of The Salvation Army Mission, treating people with dignity, empathy, and respect.
Deliver effective harm reduction: provide approved harm reduction supplies, ensuring all distributions are accurately recorded in line with service protocols.
Promote safety and accountability: document overdoses and related incidents promptly, ensuring records are accurate and incidents are escalated in line with organisational procedures.
Lead on drug service partnerships and staff development: act as the specialist point of contact for commissioned drug services, share expertise and deliver staff training, ensuring colleagues complete relevant naloxone training and are equipped to respond appropriately to overdose situations.
We're looking for someone who thinks differently, brings fresh ideas and isn't afraid to get stuck in. Someone who sees the person beyond their circumstances and wants to be part of a well-established organisation doing work that matters. As our Recovery Practitioner (known internally as Specialist Support Worker) you'll deliver our recovery and harm reduction programme, engage locally and nationally with likeminded practitioners sharing good practice, and trends, and empower people to make positive changes and take steps towards lasting, positive change.
