Job summary

Turning Point Herefordshire Recovery Service is recruiting a Recovery Worker to support people with alcohol or drug issues and related mental health and housing needs. You will act as a key worker in a multidisciplinary team, developing plans, maintaining contact and providing psycho-social interventions and risk management.

The role includes outreach across the county (hostels, community hubs, street outreach) and travel by car; local knowledge is helpful.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of service users and colleagues.
• Ability to manage a busy schedule and work flexibly.
• Commitment to Turning Point values.
• Lived experience of substance misuse or experience in health/social care is useful.
• Knowledge of housing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide psycho-social interventions, assessments and risk management planning.
• Act as a key worker to a caseload of service users and develop plans to achieve goals.
• Maintain regular contact with clients and work with clinical staff and partner agencies.
• Undertake outreach to engage service users in the county (hostels, hubs, street outreach).
• Travel across the county; car ownership or access to a vehicle and UK driving licence essential.
