Job summary

The Forward Trust is recruiting a Group Programmes Facilitator to join our Substance Misuse Service at HMP Brixton. Based on-site in Brixton, you will lead and coordinate therapeutic group programmes and deliver sessions to help men achieve lasting recovery.

You will recruit and support lived experience volunteers, work with prison staff and healthcare teams, and monitor outcomes to drive service improvement. The role may require occasional evenings or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering psychosocial group programmes.
• Ability to apply trauma-informed, recovery-focused approaches.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate therapeutic group programmes including Stepping Stones, SDTP and The Bridge.
• Deliver engaging group sessions and 1:1 interventions using a trauma-informed, recovery-focused approach.
• Support individuals to build sustainable recovery pathways and positive futures.
• Coordinate referrals, assessments, programme timetables and outcomes.
• Develop and grow mutual aid groups and peer-led recovery initiatives.
• Recruit, support and oversee lived experience volunteers and peer mentors.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals, prison staff and recovery teams to deliver outstanding support.
• Monitor programme performance and help shape continuous service improvement.
