Job summary

The Forward Trust is hiring a Group Programmes Facilitator to lead therapeutic group programmes at HMP Brixton. You will deliver group sessions and 1:1 interventions using a trauma-informed, recovery-focused approach, helping individuals build sustainable recovery pathways and positive futures.

You will coordinate referrals, assessments and timetables, develop mutual aid groups, and oversee lived experience volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating groups or delivering psychosocial interventions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead and coordinate therapeutic group programmes including Stepping Stones, SDTP and The Bridge.

What you need to know:
  • It is a fixed-term contract (minimum 3 years) in line with funding arrangements.
  • It is based at HMP Brixton.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends on a rota basis is needed

All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.

Please note if you have lived overseas within the last 5 years then checks may take longer.
