Job Title: Reconciliation Analyst

Location: Glasgow

Outstanding opportunity for a candidate with great experience in reconciliations and Excel to join a global, market-leading organisation's finance team based in Glasgow. Hybrid working in place, two days per week in the office and three from home.

Main Purpose of the Role: The Reconciliation Analyst supports the delivery of a world-class operational platform within a dynamic, global environment. This role involves reconciling client debts within the Collections Management System, identifying discrepancies that could hinder timely payment and debt resolution.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator, capable of working independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve client disputes and ensure a smooth collections process.

The Reconciliation Analyst is part of the Self-Bill Team and reports to the Self Bill & Master Data Manager. The role also involves contributing to various ad hoc duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of self-bill clients, ensuring accounts are reconciled accurately and payments are received according to contractual terms.
  • Perform reconciliations across client portals and SAP Collections Management to enable proactive collections.
  • Accurately allocate incoming payments.
  • Achieve monthly targets for aged debt, cash collection, and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial processes and standards.
  • Liaise with placement support teams and sales to address and resolve payment-related issues.
  • Review and take action on misaligned payment terms within Managed Service Programmes (MSPs).
  • Escalate high-risk accounts to the Credit Manager or other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activity.
  • Proactively follow up on reconciliation issues to prevent delays and improve collection efficiency.
  • Collaborate with remote MSP key contacts and client focal points on complex account matters.
  • Process client rebates and manage payment terms in line with established procedures.
  • Provide practical solutions to both internal and external stakeholders in alignment with company policies.
Person Specification

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience in financial reconciliations within a self-bill environment.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume accounts receivable or commercial finance setting.
  • Familiarity with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365, or the ability to quickly learn financial systems.
  • Strong Excel skills, particularly in data handling and reconciliation.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., German, French, Dutch, or Spanish) is advantageous but not essential.
