Reconciliations Accountant — 12-Month FTC — £45,000 — Manchester
Overview
We are looking for a Reconciliations Accountant to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is suited to a Financial Accountant with strong reconciliations experience and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliations: Conduct daily and periodic reconciliations of bank statements, control accounts, and the general ledger.
- Investigate discrepancies: Research and resolve variances, outstanding items, and mismatches across financial data.
- Maintain records: Ensure accurate, up-to-date financial records in line with company policy and audit standards.
- Process transactions: Allocate incoming payments, process receipts and refunds, and post accurately to ledger accounts.
- Generate reports: Prepare reconciliation reports for management, highlighting discrepancies and corrective actions.
- Liaise with stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams (AP, AR) and external partners to resolve queries.
- Support month-end close: Ensure all accounts are reconciled and documented for month- and year-end processes.
- Implement controls: Strengthen internal controls and contribute to process improvements.
About You
- (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
- Strong reconciliations and balance sheet accounting expertise.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and able to integrate quickly into a close-knit team.
