Job summary

The Academy of Dental Nursing Ltd in Gobowen, Shropshire, is hiring for a full-time dental reception trainee with the potential to qualify as a dental nurse. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, with on‑the‑job training within a busy NHS and private practice environment.

You will handle patient appointments, liaise with clinicians, assist with basic nursing tasks, and uphold infection control, GDPR and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-desk reception and patient communications.
• Willingness to train as a dental nurse.
• Familiarity with basic health and safety, infection control and GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Make patient appointments by phone and in person.
• Liaise with dental clinicians to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Provide high quality dental nursing support to clinicians.
• Ensure cross-infection and decontamination procedures are followed.
• Prepare and close surgeries.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures.
• Apply infection control procedures.
• Basic First Aid and respond to medical emergencies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
• Requires driving license.

We are advertising for a client who requires a candidate to train as a dental receptionist with the prospect of becoming a dental nurse for their busy NHS & private dental practice in Gobowen, Shropshire.

This exciting opportunity is a full time position between Monday - Friday from 8.30am - 5.30pm .

Training within the practice will include:

Reception:

• administration duties including making patient appointments including telephone and face-to-face communication, collection of patient charges, ensuring the day to day smooth running of the dental practice using the dental software.
• Liaising with the dental clinicians and staff to ensure the day to day smooth running of the dental practice using the dental software.
• being able to carry out high quality dental nursing to assist each clinicians with dental procedures
• ensuring that all cross-infection and decontamination procedures are carried out in correctly
• Preparing and closing of the surgeries
• Health and Safety procedures
• Infection Control procedures
• Basic First Aid & Medical Emergencies
• Patient Confidentiality and GDPR procedures
• Driving license

Minimum wage will be paid whilst in training.
