POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

RECEPTIONIST / STUDENT SERVICES ASSISTANT

Office Location(s): Franklin County Campus, 925 Dinah Shore Blvd. Winchester, TN 37398

DEPARTMENT: Student Services FUNCTIONAL AREA: G2 Academic & Student Support

JOB FAMILY: Support Staff - Hourly CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, Non-exempt

SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Student Services Coordinator, the Receptionist/Student Services Assistant will answer incoming calls, relay messages, and greet and direct campus visitors. He/she will serve as the primary point of contact in the front office providing academic program information, assisting students with the admission process, and answering frequently asked questions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and approved work experience of at least one year
  • Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office programs and other basic computer software.
  • Strong customer service skills, effective oral and written communication, and organizational and planning skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical diploma or higher with an emphasis in Administrative Office Technology or related area in industry or higher education environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility numerous times during the shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer and relay incoming calls, greet and assist visitors, disseminate information about the institution in person, by phone, and by email or virtual contact.
  • Preparing reports, tracking documents, record keeping, and communication.
  • Assist students to navigate the MyTCAT Portal to complete admission requirements and related information.
  • Work directly with student services to provide support in all areas of Banner and other software.
  • Assist instructional staff with clerical needs and basic printer/computer support.
  • Assist with food drives, student events and activities.
  • Scan and email delivery receipts/packing slips, invoices to accounts payable.
  • Assist with tours and coordination of campus events as needed.
  • Assist employees with reserving a vehicle (coordinated through Melody Terry)
  • Assist with Dual Enrollment activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by student services/administration.

TIMELINE: Applications will be reviewed immediately.

HOURLY WAGE: $18.00 PAYROLL: Monthly on the 15th day of the month.
