Job description

Job Title: Receptionist (Temporary)
Location: Kidderminster, National Probation Service
Duration: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 9am - 5pm
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour (paid weekly)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and strong-willed individual to join the National Probation Service in Cheltenham as a Receptionist. This is a temporary, full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to a vital public service while gaining valuable experience in a professional and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Offender & Victim Information Management: Maintain and arrange accurate data related to offenders and victims within relevant databases.
  • Visitor Reception: Greet and assist onsite visitors, providing direction and support as necessary.
  • Data Entry & Diary Management: Ensure all data is accurately entered and appointments are properly managed.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including courts, solicitors, and police.
  • Service User Interaction: Liaise with service users face-to-face to arrange appointments and provide support.
  • Telephone Enquiries: Handle telephone queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance as required by the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months of recent experience in a receptionist or administrative role.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle a busy and sometimes challenging environment.
  • Flexibility: Able to work extended hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as required.
  • Transferable Skills: Candidates who can demonstrate relevant transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Professional Development: On-the-job training will be provided where necessary.
  • Potential for Extension: This is a temporary role, ongoing position.
