Job description

Applications are invited for a motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable individual keen to work within a busy outpatient department as a receptionist. To maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Phlebotomy Manager, providing patient reception duties as well as admin support. To support the delivery of a high-quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• To collect blood samples from patients in accordance with agreed Trust policies.
• To generate blood request forms from ICE previously stored by medical/clinical staff.
• To ensure that blood samples are delivered safely and efficiently to Pathology in an agreed time.
• Process patient's blood samples using the Glucose Monitoring Meter and analysing results.
• To ensure that procedures for the control of infection are carried out according to Trust policies.
• Be aware of off-duty planning and the need to meet service requirements.
• Attend appropriate mandatory training sessions.
• Attend departmental meetings when necessary.
