We have an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department Administration Team at North Manchester General Hospital as a Receptionist. An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Administration Team at the hospital.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a good team player, organised, flexible and can maintain attention to detail. Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, be adaptable and willing to take on various duties. As the ED department is open 24 hours this role gives you the opportunity to work a variable shift pattern including overnight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • General reception duties – booking in patients upon arrival in the department
  • General telephone call/queries both internal and external
  • General clerical duties - sorting, filing, photocopying, scanning
  • Dealing promptly with routine enquiries from staff and patients both on the telephone and in person
  • Booking Patient Transport when required for patients
  • Booking in arrivals of ambulances within the department
  • Use of hospital computer systems/programmes, such as Hive, Adastra, One Response
  • Follow Departmental or Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
  • Take part in departmental audits as and when required
  • Complying with the Data Protection Act in relation to confidential data
