This part-time position involves offering clerical support, managing patient appointments, and ensuring the smooth running of office operations within a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong IT skills and be proficient in Welsh to facilitate effective communication with patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x candidates to join the team within the IV Suite at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The Clerical Officer role will be worked as a job share -18.75hr per week on a rolling rota to provide clerical support to the department Monday through to Friday.
The Clerical Officer(s) will provide a Front of house service, greeting patients on their arrival to the department and supporting the patient journey runs as smoothly as possible. This will include arranging appointments and processing the outcomes of the outpatient clinics, ensuring patient records are updated accurately, receiving and dispatching of patient case notes, along with other duties to ensure that the department meets all the patient's needs.
You should have excellent IT, communication and clerical skills, be well organised with a meticulous approach to work and attention to detail. You will be proactive and able to manage your own working time effectively. You must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. High standards of professionalism and a desire to learn will be essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
Main duties of the jobTo ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Provide a friendly and comprehensive reception service to all staff and patients visiting the department.
Undertake efficient reception duties e.g. answering the phone and receiving people at the reception desk.
To deal efficiently and courteously with colleagues and all visitors at all times as per departmental standards.
Visitors to the department include, staff from other areas, company representatives, visiting medical staff and patient relatives.
Deal courteously with telephone calls and enquires and relay messages in an efficient manner as service standard, processing urgent referrals.
Assist with general clerical duties, including distributing incoming mail.
To be responsible for accurately inputting data onto relevant databases and to collate data for the purpose of clinical audit.
To collate and distribute clinic lists effectively, liaising with secretaries and other administration staff. Provide an excellent communication system between relevant personnel, regarding any alterations or additions to clinic lists. This may include the booking of emergencies.
Print and distribute clinic lists in a timely manner.
Liaise with the nursing and medical teams within the department, to help maintain patient flow.
