Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT). We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Receptionist/Clerical Assistant for the Acute Medical and Short Stay Medical Units, located on B level at TRFT. You will be an integral member of the team, working on our reception areas registering patients and completing other administrative tasks, relevant to the position. You should have experience working in a clerical role, have a professional attitude, and be able to work flexibly in a busy environment and often a demanding role. You will be able to work a variety of shift patterns including weekends and Bank holidays. You will ideally have experience of working in a hospital reception environment and be familiar with administrative processes and practices. Main duties of the job

For a full description of the role, see the job description attached. Duties include but not exclusive to are: Welcoming and registering patients upon arrival to the ward. Assist in creating a patient‑focussed environment maintaining dignity and confidentiality. Updating patient movement on EPR in an accurate and timely manner. Deal with both face‑to‑face, email and telephone enquiries. Communicate with the nurse in charge and other site professionals to ensure patient flow is kept moving throughout the hospital. General office duties including scanning, photocopying and filing.

Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Maths and English at grade C/ 4 or above (or equivalent) or equivalent/demonstrable experience
Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel
Experience
  • Previous experience of working in a customer service environment/with members of the public
  • Previous experience of working within the NHS or other healthcare setting
  • Training/experience using Meditech (EPR system)
