Job summary

A veterinary practice in Warrington is seeking a full-time Receptionist/Animal Care Assistant to join their team. The role involves providing effective client reception and assisting veterinary nurses with patient care. Previous customer service experience is preferred, along with animal handling skills, although training will be provided. This position includes working 37.5 hours per week on a rota, with occasional weekend shifts.

Job description

We have an opportunity for an Receptionist/Animal Care Assistant to join our team at the Orford Lane Veterinary Surgery. The role will include working flexibly across the 3 practices that we have in Warrington.

The job holder will helping to provide a professional, effective and organised client reception and provide assistance to the veterinary nurses in the care of our patients and general maintenance of the surgery premises.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week on a rota between 8:30 am to 6:00 pm at Orford Lane plus 1:4 full weekends Sat and/or Sunday for 7.5 hours per day which is taken back as time off in lieu plus up to two Bank Holidays per year at Beech House. There will be a regular requirement to work at the Beech House practice between the hours of 8:00 am to 10:30 pm to help provide cover when there is absence within the team (with an enhanced payment for twilight hours).

Previous experience in providing excellent customer service is preferred, although not necessarily within the veterinary industry. Previous animal handling experience would be a distinct advantage alongside prior experience of working in a veterinary setting. Full training will be provided.
