A local healthcare provider in Liverpool seeks a Medical Receptionist to join their team. This role involves assisting patients, managing appointments, and undertaking various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong customer service skills, be able to work in a team, and maintain patient confidentiality. Experience in a GP practice is a plus but not essential.
We are looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly, hard-working and forward-thinking team. We have Two full time vacancies based at Riverside Centre for Health L8 6QP and Picton Medical 137 Earle Road L7 6HD
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Previous experience of working in a GP practice is desirable but not essential.

Job summary:
The purpose of the role is to:
Offer general assistance to thepractice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and othervisitors, either in person, online or on the telephone.
Receive, assist and direct patientsin accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way.
Undertake a variety of administrativeduties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provisionof secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of thepractice team where needed.
Facilitate effective communicationbetween patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care andother associated healthcare agencies.
Duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to beundertaken may include any or all of the items in the following list. Dutiesmay be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior GP or yourSupervisor dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffinglevels:
Knowledge and use of EMIS web
Processing and issuing ofprescriptions within standard timeframes as per practice policy
Maintaining and monitoring thepractice appointment system
Processing personal and telephonerequests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuringcallers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
Processing and distributing income(and outgoing) mail using Workflow
Taking messages and passing oninformation
Admin duties including scanning, readcoding, completing tasks and summarising patient medical records
Computer data entry/data allocationand collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practiceprocedures
Initiating contact with andresponding to requests from patients, other team members and associatedhealthcare agencies and providers
Filing and retrieving of paperwork
Clearing and restocking consultationrooms as required
Monitoring of fridge temperatures
Providing clerical assistance topractice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing,filing, and photocopying
Keeping patient areas tidy and freefrom obstructions and clutter
Being polite and helpful to patientsand colleagues at all times ensuring that you provide good customer service andmake a good impression
