Overview

Start date: September (Temp to perm). Role: Receptionist/ Administrator. Location: Blackburn.

A primary school in Blackburn is looking for a School Receptionist/Administrator. The cover is Monday to Friday, term time only, 8.45am – 3.45pm. This is a long-term opportunity to start in September 2025.

This role serves as the first point of contact for all visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome. You will be responsible for managing the front-of-house area and supporting administrative functions.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and sign in visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Input attendance registers accurately and efficiently.
  • Use internal systems such as SIMS and ParentPay to manage records and payments.
  • Communicate with parents and carers, including handling challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Manage your time and workload independently, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Support general administrative duties as required.
Skills and Qualities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with sensitive situations professionally.
  • Good organisational skills and time management.
  • Experience using school-based systems is desirable.
