About

The Guildhall Surgery is a small rural General Practice with approximately 5,300 patients. We have 2 General Partners supported by a team of nursing and administrative staff. We treat patients for all aspects of general health care, including minor illness, long-term conditions, urgent on-the-day treatment, and minor surgery.

We operate under a General Medical Services Contract with a list size of about 5,400 patients. Located in the beautiful town of Clare, our small practice has a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. Our administrative team is supportive and friendly, and we are looking for someone to support both the Reception and Administrative teams.

Day-to-Day Duties:
  • Answering calls from patients and signposting to appropriate clinicians.
  • Processing clinical documentation received by post and electronically.
  • Processing prescription requests and summarising patient records to ensure accuracy and tidiness.
  • Scanning notes into patient records.
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control procedures.
  • Managing your workload and time effectively.
  • Monitoring and processing surgery emails.
  • Communicating with the admin and clinical teams.
Entry Requirements:

GCSE Maths and English at grades 4 or above.

Training Provided:

The successful candidate will study the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.

Additional Considerations:

You will be enrolled in the NHS Pension Scheme. The role involves the use of Display Screen Equipment for extended periods. A self-assessment will ensure a comfortable working environment. Occasionally, you may need to handle dissatisfied patients. The environment is busy and fast-paced.

Past apprentices have been offered permanent contracts upon completing their training.
