Job description
Overview

Receptionist/Administrator – 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Be the welcoming face of our head office and keep everything running smoothly.

About Us
At Company Shop Group (CSG), part of Biffa, we're the UK's largest commercial redistributor of surplus food and household products. Every year, we help some of the biggest retailers, manufacturers, and logistics providers unlock value from surplus stock that might otherwise go to waste. That stock is given a second life through our Company Shop stores and our award-winning social enterprise Community Shop, where we help build stronger individuals and more confident communities. We're a good business doing good — and people are at the heart of everything we do. We champion diversity, inclusion, and different perspectives, knowing that fresh ideas make us stronger and more creative.

About The Role

As our receptionist Administrator, you'll be the first point of contact for colleagues and visitors alike. From greeting guests and answering calls to keeping office operations running smoothly, you'll play a key role in creating a positive first impression and supporting our teams. No two days are the same. You'll manage everything from signing in visitors and distributing uniforms to coordinating mail, ordering supplies, and managing access systems — all while keeping our head office running efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Welcoming visitors, signing them in, and providing PPE when needed
  • Handling incoming calls, messages, and recorded mail
  • Coordinating office supplies, uniforms, lanyards, badges, and consumables
  • Supporting managers and teams with scheduling, ordering, and operational tasks
  • Providing PA support to members of the Leadership Team, such as managing diaries, processing expenses, and coordinating travel and accommodation bookings
  • Maintaining directories, visitor planners, and access systems
  • Liaising with contractors, colleagues, and stores to keep everything on track
Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Word
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with a professional, welcoming manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
