Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join the outpatients Admin team at The Outpatients Department, Alderney Hospital. The role includes:

  • Dealing with a range of telephone queries, covering reception, arranging appointments, managing patient correspondence, data inputting, and problem solving.

You will need to be highly organized with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to delivering a customer-focused service. This is a very busy department, and you will be required to effectively manage multiple and diverse work streams.

This is a part-time post of 15 hours per week working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00 to 17:00.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Applications from candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Working cooperatively as a team to provide a comprehensive, high-quality, and efficient medical records and outpatient service.
  • Acting as a first point of contact, on the telephone or face-to-face, for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Utilizing good clerical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assisting with the administration of Online Support Groups, including sending out email links, maintaining a Waiter’s List, and dispatching relevant packs to patients.
  • Creating and printing Information Leaflets and Stationery, and monitoring stationery supplies.
