An NHS practice in Knowsley is seeking a part-time medical administrator/receptionist responsible for managing patient records and facilitating office communication. The ideal candidate will have prior general practice experience, solid communication skills, and proficiency in EMIS and Docman. This role requires flexibility with working hours and the ability to handle confidential information carefully.

We are looking to appoint a part-time medical administrator/receptionist 26-30 per week.Must have experience in working in General practice and be able to code medical information on to EMIS, scan using Docman and have knowledge of processing SAR's requests.
You need to be flexible and work morning and afternoon shifts. Working hours are between 8am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
Candidates must have experience in working in general practice. Have excellent communication skills, this role has a lot of contact with patients both face to face and via the telephone.The ability to work under pressure is essential and at a fast pace.
The surgery has 3 GP partners, 2 salaried GP's, 2 Practice Nurses and a Healthcare Assistant.We have a team of administration staff supporting the Practice Manager.The surgery is a training practice.
Job responsibilities Opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area.
Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail. Registrations of new patients Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
Deal with visits requests Computer data entry update /data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required.
This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
Complete general administrative duties as directed and assisting with Quality Outcomes Framework and any other Primary Care network tasks as needed. T
To ensure repeat medication is issued in line with the protocols that are already in place, and where queries are raised that they are dealt with in the best way.
Ensure incoming letters are scanned onto the patient record within timescales and dealt with accordingly using Docman .
Code necessary information on to the patient record
Summarisation of medical records
Access and process communications via NHS net
Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history.
Process GDPR requests Other duties applicable to the post.
