Temporary Receptionist/Administrative Support - Probation Service (Newport, Isle of Wight)

Are you an organised, friendly, and proactive individual looking for a rewarding part-time role? Brook Street Ltd is excited to offer a fantastic temporary opportunity within the Probation Service at their Newport, Isle of Wight office. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a varied and engaging work environment, with the chance to make a real impact in the community.

Role at a Glance:

  • Position: Temporary Receptionist/Administrative Support
  • Hourly Rate: £12.21 per hour
  • Location: 8 Sea Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5BN
  • Hours: 19 hours per week, with the possibility of some evening (until 7:00 PM) and Saturday morning shifts (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
  • Contract Duration: Until 14/07/2025, with potential for extension

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Welcoming visitors and handling incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Managing mail, petty cash, and issuing travel warrants.
  • Ensuring the office runs smoothly by coordinating supplies, handling admin tasks, and supporting the team.
  • Assisting with building maintenance requests and ensuring health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Updating databases and retrieving information as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Great Communicator: Friendly and confident in handling both face-to-face and telephone interactions.
  • Organised & Efficient: Able to multitask and keep things running smoothly in a busy environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
  • Customer-Focused: Previous experience in reception, administration, or customer service is ideal, but not essential - if you have transferable skills, we want to hear from you!
