Overview

Job Title: GP Surgery Receptionist

We are looking for an experienced GP Surgery Receptionist to join our busy team. The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a general practice environment and be confident in using EMIS Web. You will be the first point of contact for patients, both face-to-face and over the phone, and play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Handling telephone calls and patient queries efficiently, ensuring appropriate signposting.
• Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments via EMIS Web.
• Processing patient registrations, repeat prescription requests, and clinical correspondence.
• Scanning and accurately registering clinical documents onto patient records.
• Assisting with monitoring and recording data for QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) KPIs.
• Referring patients to the relevant specialties or external services as directed.
• Supporting clinicians and the wider team with administrative tasks.

Job Description

Job responsibilities
