We are a progressive farm veterinary practice committed to providing friendly, professional, and cost-effective services at the highest standards to livestock owners in Shropshire and surrounding counties.

We are currently looking to recruit a part-time Receptionist!

The successful candidate will provide an efficient and effective reception service and act as a key point of contact and support for clients, colleagues, and external agencies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all general practice policies and procedures.
  • Complete all pharmacy daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks.
  • Use various hardware and software to facilitate job requirements.
  • Read and sign off all Health and Safety policies within the specified timeframe.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of clients’ accounts and details, in line with GDPR.
  • Answer calls politely and manage them efficiently.
  • Attend to clients face-to-face at the reception counter professionally.
  • Perform office administration tasks, check and process emails, and handle payments (cheques, cash, cards).
  • Ensure compliance with VMD requirements for pharmacy audits.
  • Maintain pharmacy organization, including labeling, stock rotation, and stock level management.
  • Process daily deliveries and dispense medicines accurately and promptly.
  • Record fridge and room temperature checks daily.
  • Manage stock orders and ensure pharmacy is well-stocked.
  • Manage staff diaries for pharmacy-related matters.
  • Monitor and order Tuberculin in line with UKFarmcare requirements.
  • Assist with cleaning and preparation of surgical instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Record and monitor laboratory samples.
  • Carry out opening and closing routines daily.

Clinical/TB Reception Responsibilities include:

  • Follow all practice policies and procedures.
  • Complete all relevant daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks.
  • Use hardware and software effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
  • Manage client communications and appointments efficiently.
  • Handle payments and process invoices.
  • Coordinate TB tests, including scheduling, communication, and documentation using SAM and TOM systems.
  • Ensure compliance with UKFarmcare protocols for annual audits.
  • Order necessary equipment and stationery.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the practice premises.

Salary: Starting salary £15,352 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 1:00 pm at the practice, with one Saturday approximately every seven weeks, 8:45 am to 11:30 am, home-based managing diverted calls.
