Are you based in or around Caerphilly?

We have a fixed-term receptionist role available within DS Smith's Caerphilly site. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service and administrative skills and is engaging, professional, and adaptable.

Role: Receptionist
Location: 11 Beddau Way, Caerphilly - CF83 2AX
Rate: £12.82 per hour (equivalent to £25,000 salary)
Contract length: 2 weeks (9 working days due to bank holiday)
Shift Patterns: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hours/week)

Start Date: 26th August

Responsibilities:

  • Manning the reception desk and welcoming all visitors, contractors, and suppliers

  • Conducting visitor inductions upon arrival

  • Managing calls via switchboard and redirecting as appropriate

  • Supporting with general administrative duties including mail distribution, filing, and ordering stationery

  • Distributing fruit deliveries to departments throughout the building

  • Reporting and resolving any building maintenance issues

  • Assisting the Workplace Manager with health & safety duties including fire drill and first aid support

  • Supporting the onsite team and staff with ad hoc office admin tasks

  • First week will include a handover/training period

Essential requirements:

  • Previous reception or front-of-house experience, ideally in a corporate setting

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Highly organised with strong administrative ability

  • Friendly and professional presentation and attitude

  • Willingness to complete Fire Marshal and First Aid training if not already held

  • "Can-do" attitude with a proactive approach to workplace support

Desirable requirements:

  • Driving license and use of a car

  • Experience with building maintenance reporting or office facilities support
