Job description

We are a friendly GP surgery operating across two sites in Staines, seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our reception team.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be computer literate, confident, hardworking, eager to learn, and proactive. Previous experience in a GP practice would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scanning documents into Docman
  • Managing referrals
  • Handling outgoing prescriptions
  • Dealing with patient enquiries
  • Registering new patients
  • Performing other administrative duties as required

The post holder will:

  • Have knowledge of IT clinical systems such as EMISWeb, DOCMAN, and Microsoft Office
  • Maintain a polite telephone manner
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Work effectively as part of a team

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

The role involves undertaking a wide range of reception duties and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include greeting and directing patients, managing appointment systems, booking appointments, processing information, and assisting patients as needed. The post also acts as a central point of contact for patients and liaises with clinical team members and external agencies.
