Receptionist

The closing date for this position is 16 October 2025.

The postholder will be responsible for providing a high-quality reception and administration service to support inpatient services based at Bamburgh Clinic and Alnwood. We currently operate a 24-hour, 7 days a week service, which will be reviewed in six months' time.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will ensure that patients, staff, and visitors are welcomed into the units by competent operation of access, contributing to a safe and secure environment in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. The postholder will be required to liaise with all staff disciplines, patients, and visitors within the service, including external organisations, in the course of the reception function.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
  • OCR Level 3 Word-processing/typing qualification or OCR Level 3 in Business Administration. Educated to GCSE Standard/O-Level, including English and maths, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including email communication.
  • Ability to maintain and update Patient Information Systems, such as RiO.
  • Good working knowledge of office procedures.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times.
  • Able to prioritise and plan own workload.
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
