Job description

We are seeking an inspiring and nurturing Reception Teacher to join a committed early years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the educational foundations of our youngest learners in a supportive and creative environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:

• Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports all areas of early development

• Use observational assessment and continuous provision to monitor progress and guide next steps

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, staff, and families to ensure the best outcomes for every child

• Foster strong relationships with pupils and parents, promoting a positive start to school life

• Support school-wide events, trips, and initiatives in line with whole-school priorities

Ideal Reception Year Teacher:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching in EYFS or Reception class

• Be confident in delivering early phonics, maths, and language-rich activities

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of child development and the EYFS framework

• Be passionate about learning through play, child-led exploration, and outdoor education a Reception Year Teaching Assistant.

• Be reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement
