Job Title: Reception Team Leader
Pay: £14.36ph
Duration: 2 months (potential for extension)
Hours: 30h per week 10.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday
Location: Shire Hall, Warwick
Start Date: ASAP

What does the job entail?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Meet & Greet / Reception Lead to join Warwickshire County Council's Libraries and Communities Service team. This role is ideal for an experienced customer service professional with a strong background in team supervision, front-of-house operations, and stakeholder engagement. Based at Shire Hall, you will lead a small team delivering excellent reception and customer services, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors.

You will achieve this by:
  • Supervising Meet & Greet Assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Coordinating staff rotas and daily operations, including contingency cover.
  • Supporting your team through challenging customer interactions and complaints.
  • Acting as a first aider and fire warden for the site.
  • Managing reception-related admin including post handling, databases, and reports.
  • Ensuring the reception area complies with Health & Safety standards.
  • Supporting promotional activity for wider library and council services.
  • Liaising with internal departments and building partners to maintain smooth service.
  • Upholding customer service standards and driving continuous improvement.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • At least 2 years' customer service experience.
  • Proven experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Confident using IT systems including MS Office.
  • Experience in cash handling and administrative procedures.
  • A methodical, organised, and proactive approach to service delivery.
  • Ability to respond independently to problems and prioritise workloads.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and support building access as a keyholder.
