Job summary

Reception Teaching Assistant - Primary School - GlossopTradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a highly experienced Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Glossop area.This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable TA who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and experience working specifically within Reception.

The Role

• Supporting the Reception class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
• Providing targeted support to children across the EYFS curriculum.
• Supporting children's learning, development and progress through engaging activities.
• Helping children develop their communication, social and emotional skills.
• Supporting classroom routines, transitions and continuous provision.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure children receive high-quality support.
• Creating a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

• Essential: Significant previous experience working in a Reception classroom.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Ideally hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
• Confident supporting children's learning through play and structured activities.
• Warm, nurturing and patient approach with young children.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a busy Reception team.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
