Job summary

Qualifications

• Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a clear focus or experience in EYFS.
• Are an EYFS Specialist: deep understanding of the Early Learning Goals and the importance of the “characteristics of effective learning.”
• Are Adaptable & Fun: you can crawl into a reading den, lead an impromptu singing session, and maintain professional boundaries all in one morning.
• Are Committed: you hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic EYFS Delivery: Facilitate engaging “Learning through Play” that meets the seven areas of the EYFS framework.
• Nurture & Development: Support children as they develop their PSED (Personal, Social and Emotional Development) and transition into the routines of school life.
• Classroom Energy: Manage the high-energy flow of a Reception setting, from outdoor learning and messy play to structured carpet time.
• Seamless Continuity: Step into new settings and quickly build rapport with Teaching Assistants and parents, ensuring the children's routine remains consistent and calm.

• EYFS Expertise: Lead a classroom where play is the vehicle for learning, ensuring a balance between child-initiated and adult-led activities.
• Early Literacy & Phonics: Use your skills in Phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc, Little Wandle) to set the foundation for reading and writing success.
