Reception Supervisor - Hotel & Spa | Rutland - £27,000 per annum (£13 per hour)

We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an exclusive 4-star hotel and leisure destination set on the picturesque shores of Rutland Water.

Following continued investment and regeneration, we are seeking a talented Reception Supervisor to join the front-of-house team — someone who will make every guest’s arrival unforgettable and ensure their entire stay is seamless and memorable.

About the Reception Supervisor

Reporting to the Reception Manager, you’ll lead from the front, guiding the reception team to deliver a consistently high level of service — creating that all-important first impression and ensuring a warm and professional goodbye at the end of every stay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the reception team to deliver outstanding service and ensure guest expectations are met and exceeded.

  • Lead by example, ensuring team communication and collaboration are strong across all shifts.

  • Welcome and check-in guests to the hotel’s 66 bedrooms and luxury lodges, handling all requests with care and attention.

  • Proactively manage guest requests and special requirements to personalise each experience.

  • Deliver effective handovers between shifts and maintain clear communication across the department.

  • Monitor team performance, support development, and motivate staff to achieve excellence.

  • Ensure guest accounts are accurate and presented clearly upon departure.

  • Control and monitor room allocations to optimise occupancy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous hotel reception experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • Knowledge of reception systems is advantageous, but training will be provided.

  • A people-focused leader with enthusiasm for coaching, learning, and developing others.

  • High personal and professional standards with an eye for detail.

  • A team player with a proactive approach to service and problem-solving.
