Role Responsibilities

At the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children's Service for KCC Integrated Children's Services, we respond to all requests for support at an intensive level or above, ensuring they are passed to the appropriate service for ongoing support and intervention.

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Business Support Officer to join our busy team.

This role involves ensuring the safe and timely transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from Kent County Council to other local authorities under the National Transfer Scheme (NTS). You will support the business operations within the unit, ensuring smooth daily functioning. The ideal candidate will have excellent IT and problem-solving skills, confidence in communicating with professionals and the public, and the ability to handle sensitive information. The role is varied and fast-paced, requiring multi-tasking and attention to detail under pressure.

This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

As a customer-facing role, the council requires post holders to have sufficient spoken English/Welsh to perform the job effectively, as per Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Standards are detailed in the Job Description/Person Specification.
